AHC Player — TV media player for your home network storage

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I connect to my AiHomeCloud NAS?

From the Home screen, choose "Add Source" → scan for devices on your network, select your AiHomeCloud box, then pick or create a profile (PIN optional). The app pairs with your NAS automatically.

Can I use this without an AiHomeCloud NAS?

Yes. You can add an SMB share on your local network, or browse internal storage / a USB drive plugged into your Android TV / Fire TV device.

Why don't I see posters/artwork for some files?

Artwork comes from The Movie Database (TMDB) based on the filename. Make sure filenames are close to the official title (e.g. "Inception (2010).mp4"). You can also set your own TMDB API key in Settings → TMDB if lookups are rate-limited.

The app asks for storage permission — why?

This is only requested the first time you open an Internal Storage or USB source, so the app can list and play your local video files. It is never used for anything else.

How do I remove a source or clear my data?

Go to Settings → Sources to remove a connected NAS, SMB share, or storage source. To clear everything (sources, login tokens, watch history, cached artwork), uninstall the app or use Android Settings → Apps → AHC Player → Clear Data.

Is my data safe?

Yes. AHC Player has no servers of its own. Your library, watch history, and login tokens stay on your device and on your own NAS — never on AiHomeCloud servers.
